Learning from colleagues
Grimminger is currently training four apprentices to become cutting machine operators specializing in grinding. The practical training includes learning the basics of machining technology in the in-house apprentice workshop. At the same time, our apprentices gain their first experience in the production environment and look over the shoulders of their colleagues, some of whom have 40 years of professional experience. “This experience is priceless,” says Michael Bittermann, who will complete his apprenticeship at Grimminger in spring 2025. He will take his practical journeyman's examination on a centerless plunge-cut grinding machine, which he will then set up independently for a series of parts. “I particularly enjoy working independently on the machines and robots and I have the opportunity to do so here,” he says happily.
